Staying as skipper, TGO? Or is the club hunting/or found a new capt'n/coach, or is it going the whole nine yards of regeneration with a young skipper as well, guided by TGO experience?
If you continue as capt'n, who do you see, in terms of pecking order, as a most likely future capt'n from among the young brigade of Masto, T-model, Armitage and the newest recruit, Kingi, or any others I may have overlooked? Was the lure of future captaincy part of the latest recruitment package?
playing as captain. 1 maybe 2 years will see how things go. i'm sure one of the young fellas could take over after that. if not, i'm sure we will find a suitable replacement. how are you blokes coping now all your players are 4 pointers?
we have been inundated with approaches to play for us. it's an embarrassment of riches. you will be the first to know once we make our final selections.
anyway, with the parkers, bloodhounds and westies hanging on to their top guns, and the magpies and doves flying high and wide in search of talent, me wonders whether charles atlas' carribean cousin will get another gig at the cave? what say you choo choo?
Bwana (O Great One), don't mean to give you indigestion so close to your departure but any truth in the jungle drums beating about serious woowing by unlikely source to get the T-Model to change garages?
didn't think he'd leave the harold rd garage as i understand it offers unmatachable grease and oil changes, and is pretty good at inflating spare tyres carried by a few.
and you pal have had the hand brake on too long. why don't you illuminate us with some pearls of your infinite wisdom, not to mention in-depth knowledge of all the goings on around the ddca traps?
Here's part of the blurb on the Bentleigh Cricket Club site re the appointment of their new captain/coach for the new two seasons, the great Greg Todd.
"Todd has been part of Buckley Ridges, a club affiliatd with the Dandenong District Cricket Association, where last season he was the Captain of their Turf 1 side and senior coach. In 2012/13, Todd captained and coached the Turf 1 side to a Premiership and finished with 482 Turf 1 runs, which included a highest score of 158* - an innings in which he opened and batted right through. He finished the season with an average of 60.3."
Surely our humble, bashful mate Toddy wouldn't have supplied them with that misinformation! Wonder what his mate Caulky would F#@***** say when he F#@**** hears that. Trust he really has been appointed their capt/coach and that Bentleigh hasn't made that up as well.
Anyway, very warmest and best wishes to a genuinely great guy who will hopefully rewrite records in that comp.
Todd's departure among others from the reigning premiers I believe has had some blokes from a couple of clubs in particular dancing bloodthirsty jigs in the belief that it signals the demise of the noisy lot. Anyone bold enough to make any predications about where teams will finish next season.
Jaaamieee, how about an early market to set the ball rolling?
Calls to ask who the other departures are from Buckley.
Well, very sad to see a couple of champs leaving but wish them all the very best on their deserved upward journey after their sterling performances not surprisingly saw them being chased and recruited for district ranks by Casey. So here's to DJ and Austy. Hopefully they'll not only go well at district level but go on to emulate another Buckley Boy, Jayde Herrick, and don the Big V, joining the Patto Bros from the DDCA ranks to make it big in recent years. Go you good things!
Vertically challenged fisherman will be casting his net for a big fish to replace the one that got away (if rumours are correct). Seems that even though he helped little C get the club into T1 the opera star is heading back to the northerners.
