Following on from ole Slowcoach stepping down as coach at SS, No. 7 Leftie has set what must be a DDCA record by becoming the third person in his family -- in the footsteps of DaddyO Snagger and MummyDearest Deb -- to be elected president of the same club, Buckley Ridges.
I'm sure he will prosecute his new part-time duties as well as he does his day job. I've watched this guy grow from a little under-12 tacker into a terrific 18-year Turf 1 veteran. Full marks in every respect as a person and a player, and next as an administrator who could offer the wider DDCA much in coming years should his job allow and he be so inclined.
Excited turnout by T1 newies Lyndale at their first indoor session last night at Sandown. New coach (is there anything thing this man can't do?), Fleet Commander Tony "TC"* Ciconte, has let it be know from the bridge that he expects nothing less than a premiership in the 2013-14 season as repayent for the mini fortune he has spent in hauling together his team. His stick and carrot approach includes booze/food-provided bonding sessions on one of his boats in Westernport, mixed with punishment for laggards where they will be tossed overboard and dragged along by a long-handled fishhook. He's keeping one of his prized nets ready just in case there are a few laggards who need to be dragged.
* A prize to be organized (I'm nominating by TGO) for the person who comes up with the best suggestion for what "C" stands for in the coach's initials/nickname, TC, when "T" stands for Tiny.
Congrats goodzo, popular choice of skipper by noizy boyz. well deserved reward for years of dedication to the club, including captaining junior premiership sides. no doubt his old man (my old teammate) will be planting his picnic chair under the trees by the creek and sinking a slab with jorgo every game day. hang on, that won't be happening cause the big former full-forward who once booted 29 goals in a match is watching his intake. suck it in big fella!
