2013-14 Ashes series

Will tonight be the start of another chapter in that long-running Pommy saga Ashes to Ashes: Winners are Grinners, and sub-titled Ashes holders, 2012 Tour de Farce, Lions rugby and Wimbledon just for deserts, or will it be the start of a new Aussie best-seller titled How we sucked 'em in and blew 'em away?

the bird's flow the coup.  birdman likely best swinger in pommy conditions left out for sids whose performance recently less than ordinary.

maybe the writing's on the wall with patto's first over. he's bowled better first overs in junior cricket.hope they both prove me wrong.

Bowlers did well but the pressure on our bats may be beyond them. Any score over 350 by the poms in this series will see us in deep trouble. Our bowlers have to keep the poms down under 30 for us to have any chance in this series.

That SOB Prior confirmed just before midnight that he was and remains the biggest cheat of a wicket keeper in Test history. Dumb and dumber Lankan ump Dharma-I-seen-nothin' lifts the finger again on the cheat's appeal when the ball clearly missed Rogers' bat. Prior has history in this regard. Always oohing and ahhing behind the stumps even when the ball hits the middle of the bat, and takes the bails off when the batsman is a yard back in the crease. ICC get rid of the woman's private part.

114-3 after lunch 2nd Test at Lords and Patto still balling shyte -- half-tracker down leg deflected for yet another 4.

Pretty boy skipper praised for bringing his best pal Watto on after Pattos first over of shyte and got breakthrough and praised by all commentators... but not one word how he f'd up by bringing doveton boy back on for more crap and succeeded in playing in trotters and ding dong with another seven overs of crap. We could see it watching from 12,000 miles away -- couldn't hold his line or length yet persisted with while sids left wondering along with us watching.

bird and harris always going to be the best two bowlers in England but the birdman still waiting on the sidelines. horse has bolted. batten down the hatches. mad to play sids and patto in same side in England when birds and harries in the squad. aus a different matter. hope patto makes me eat my words because he's bowling crap at the moment.

only hangover i've got is from watching aussies bowl like millionaires (what's the use of marking out your run up sids?) and a skipper who is intoxicated on being "attacking" instead of cutting off trotters main leg side flick and ding dongs square drive. not as if he's playing against them for the first time. four after four and no one on the boundary. look at the scoreboard. should have throttled em once they got the first 3 wkts.

but of course tgo would always know more than a humble battler.

different day, same shyte from skipper and patto.

harris doing excellent job with two quick wickets but Clarke persists with giving to the new nut to "off" patto instead of sides and he bowls up same crap. I give up.

yet another example of bogan lowlife prior appealing (cheating) to get Khwaja. even one-eyed beefy couldn't believe the drs decision ... but it was the lowlife with priors in this regard who initiated the whole sorry mess. he deserves heaps from aus crowds when he arrives here for second-leg of the ashes.

so, finally there is talk of giving birdman, the swinging metronome, a go . . . after the first leg of the ashes is gone!

well well, the birdie is finally in, even if its too late for the ashes leg in England.

gagged when pretty boy skip said at the toss that birdi was like glenn mcgarth with his accuracy ... well dumbo, if that's true why didn't you have him in the first Test? Any other team in the world would give anything to have an oh ahh glenn mcg-type in the team.

Rogers' century the gutsiest by an Aussie since grumpy AB's days! If only NSW-centric selectors had given this Prahran guy an opportunity earlier (they forgot he was originally from NSW), Aust would have been better off.

my boy birdie's second innings performance very poor. allowed poms to get too many. but loved the fact that the bogan cheater got his just deserts with first ball quack!!!
